A Journey through Miami

Miaam sea lineIf you are looking  for a truly amazing experience, plan a trip to Miami. With places like South Beach, Little Havana and the Art deco district, you can dive into a vibrant culture and take in all of the greatness that Miami has to offer. From the beach to the nightclubs on Ocean Avenue, you can enjoy a vacation unlike any other.

This city has an array of amazing small boutique art galleries. You may even wish to stop by the Coconut Grove Art Festival to check out all of the incredible work made by local artists in town. South Beach also hosts Art Deco Weekend, which features parties, art shows and amazing restaurants.

If you are in town in March you can’t miss the Winter Music Conference (WMC), a weeklong electronic music conference bringing together artists, DJs, producers and promoters for seminars and panel discussions. Thousands of attendees go to the Winter Music Conference each year and have a great time. There are over 500 individual events during the week the conference takes place. Because of its large extent and popularity, The New York Times named it “one of the most anticipated clubbing events in the country”.

Even if you are not big on the party scene there are always lots of outdoors activities to enjoy in Miami. Over 7 miles of white, sandy beaches offer the perfect conditions for sun bathing, swimming, surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, and kite surfing. Enjoy a walk or a bike ride through the city’s extensive network of bike/pedestrian pathways. Take a walking or biking tour to see the famous Art Deco architecture of “America’s Riviera”.

Attend the Miami Open Tennis Tournament that takes place on Key Biscayne each year in March. Come snorkel or dive the shallow reefs accessible from a boat or the beach that offer a diversity of fish and other marine life. If you’re feeling adventurous, hop a 3-day cruise or a short flight to the Bahamas. Take a road trip to the nearby Florida Keys for the weekend. You can even take a day trip to the Everglades National Park for an airboat ride through the swamps and if you’re lucky, you might spot a crocodile, manatee or a python.

In my opinion Miami has something to offer for every type of traveler. You’ll never be bored. I think it’s the diversity of the people here that makes it a place with a cool and interesting atmosphere. You can find a wealth of cuisines from around the world to taste, Argentinian, Brazilian, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Mexican, Greek, Asian cuisine or more!
