This hidden gem is only accessible by foot down a winding set of steps along the cliff side, but if you are up to the challenge you will  feel like you have this little slice of Portugal all to yourself.

Also known as “Shipwreck Beach” or “Smugglers Cove”, this is a pirate fantasy come true. This crystal blue water beach is one of the best kept secrets in Greece. If you’re looking for something quiet and intimate, then this is the beach for you. Although it’s only reachable via a beach tour provider in Greece, it’s a small price to pay considering that you and a select few will have this pristine beach all to yourselves.

4. Isola dei Conigili – Lampedusa, Italy

The crystal clear waters of Isola dei Conigili, an underrated beach in Europe

This is one Italian island I wouldn’t mind being stranded on. Isola dei Conigili, also known as ‘Rabbit Island’ has been widely praised for its white sandy beach and turquoise waters. It is over 105 miles from the mainland of Italy, so you will truly feel like you are marooned on a tropical island, only you won’t want to be rescued! Despite the name, you won’t find any furry creatures but expect to see some loggerhead turtles as you explore this little island.  A perfect place to snorkel and soak up the Mediterranean sun.

5. Punta Rata Beach – Brela, Croatia

Punta Rata Beach in Croatia is so mesmerizing and dreamy, it has won numerous travel and tourism awards over the years. Once you step foot on this white sand beach, you’ll know exactly why! This beach is actually a wildlife and natural protected site dedicated to preserving the flora and fauna of the region. Not to worry though, visitors can come lay a blanket on the beach and splash around in the water as long as you’re respectful and tidy.
