Join me as I recount my unforgettable adventure through Colombia, guided by the expertise of local travel wizards, and delve into a world where beach bliss meets the mysteries of the Lost City. Welcome to my vacation in Colombia, where every moment is an invitation to explore the depths of beauty and history.
Day 1 to Day 2: Arrival and Beach Bliss

Touching down in Santa Marta, Colombia, felt like stepping into a dream. The warm welcome from the locals and the stunning scenery immediately set the tone for an unforgettable vacation. After a smooth transfer to our accommodation, we wasted no time diving into the magic of Neguanje Beach.
Boarding a boat, we cruised along the coast to Tayrona, famously dubbed Playa Cristal for its crystal-clear waters and powdery white sands. The day slipped away in a blur of sunshine, surf, and serenity, leaving us already yearning for more.
Day 3: Trekking into the Lost World

Rising early, we embarked on a journey into the heart of Colombia’s rugged beauty with the Lost City Trek. The trail unfolded like a storybook, each step revealing lush landscapes and ancient secrets.
After a hearty lunch in Machete Pelao, our small group set out, tackling steep terrain and crossing paths with indigenous communities along the way. As dusk settled, we found ourselves nestled in hammocks at a local settler’s farm, the anticipation of what lay ahead tingling in the air.
Day 4 to Day 5: Unveiling History's Mysteries

The Lost City Trek continued to weave its spell as we pressed deeper into the wilderness. Day four saw us traversing verdant valleys and cooling off in the Buritaca River, all while soaking in the wisdom of the Kogui people and their revered Mamo Romualdo.
Then, as dawn painted the sky on day five, we reached our destination: Teyuna, the Lost City of the Taironas. Climbing the ancient stone steps, we felt time itself whispering through the ruins, a profound connection to Colombia’s past washing over us with each breathtaking vista.
Day 6: Nature's Symphony

With a free morning to savor the sights and sounds of the Sierra, day six unfolded at a leisurely pace. After a nourishing lunch, our local travel expert helped us embark on a gentle four-hour walk to native cabin 1, Adan, where the lush embrace of nature enveloped us once more. As evening descended, we reveled in the untamed beauty surrounding us, grateful for the chance to pause and simply be.
Day 7 to Day 8: Homeward Bound

As our final day of trekking drew to a close, we retraced our steps to Machete Pelao, each footfall a bittersweet reminder of the incredible journey behind us. Back in Santa Marta, we savored every moment, knowing that the memories forged in Colombia’s embrace would stay with us forever. With hearts full and spirits lifted, we bid farewell to this enchanting land, grateful for the expertise of our local travel expert, whose guidance had turned our dreams into reality.
Final Word
Colombia, with its tapestry of landscapes and rich tapestry of history, had stolen our hearts. From the sun-kissed shores of Tayrona to the mist-shrouded peaks of the Lost City, every moment had been a revelation, every step a testament to the power of exploration.
As we boarded our flight homeward, we carried with us not just souvenirs, but a newfound appreciation for the beauty of this world and the joy of discovery. Thank you, Colombia, for an adventure we’ll treasure always.
