“Home Sweet Home” is a phrase I’ve come to understand the value of while living abroad for 3 years. While born and raised in Los Angeles, the impact of the variety of different experiences this city offer never ceases to amaze. Los Angeles is definitely full of diversity that allows for various cultural experiences. While best known for the Glitz and Glamour of Hollywood LA also gets fueled by beaches, parks and most of all sunshine.

At six o’clock in the morning, you are awoken by the hustle and bustle of the city. The best place to enjoy the sunrise is from the highest point of Griffith Park. Famous for the location of the iconic Hollywood sign, this park is often overlooked, however it has some of the best views of downtown LA. If you are in the mood for some paddle boating, Echo Park is the best stop for you. This popular park is located only a few minutes away from downtown LA.

Downtown LA has gone through various changes throughout the years. It is no longer just for the business class. The incorporation of urban parks throughout the area invites you to enjoy a picnic between the buildings. You can find a range of restaurants, museums and street art in every corner. The City Art Walk is by far the most popular event, it happens every second Thursday of the month, rain or shine, and you can really see the vibrant art scene emerge. From films to dancers and musicians, it is definitely a must do on any visit to LA.

There are so many different cultures coexisting together here and the food is definitely the best example of that. Whether you are looking for a sit down dinner or a quick bite, the choices are endless. You can visit a little corner of the world everyday, and there’s no need to pack. Whether it be visiting Chinatown during the New Year, enjoying some spicy Asian noodles for lunch, or heading over to Olvera Street for some delicious Mexican enchiladas while listening to an authentic Mariachi band. Your spectacular day comes to an end with a creamy Italian gelato while strolling the streets and planning your big adventure for tomorrow.
