Our vacation in Costa Rica started in the vibrant city of San Jose, where we boarded a shuttle accompanied by our knowledgeable naturalist guide. As we traversed through picturesque vistas adorned with coffee plantations and the misty cloud forests of Braulio Carrillo National Park, anticipation filled the air. A delightful Costa Rican breakfast awaited us, featuring the flavorsome “Gallo Pinto” alongside fresh fruit juice and aromatic coffee.

Continuing our odyssey, we ventured to a banana plantation, immersing ourselves in the intricacies of banana cultivation. The final stretch of our voyage led us to the tranquil canals of Tortuguero National Park, a sanctuary for an array of endangered species including sloths, monkeys, and green sea turtles. Lunch was a feast for the senses, accompanied by tales of the park’s ecological significance.

Afterwards, we had the option to delve deeper into the local culture with a walking tour of the Museum and the charming town. For the adventurous souls, a night tour offered a glimpse into the nesting rituals of the Giant Green Sea Turtles, a spectacle reserved for the months of July to October. Our first night in Tortuguero, thanks to our friendly local travel expert, was a tranquil embrace of nature’s symphony.
